Bio

James Allen-Robertson is a final year PhD student with the Sociology Department at The University of York.

His thesis, Digital Culture Industry charts the history the digital distribution of media between 1997 and 2010 and examines its contemporary cultural, economic and political impact.

Having completed his BA in Sociology with the University of York, James went on to complete an MA in Social Research before beginning his current doctoral work, supervised by Prof. Roger Burrows & Dr. David Beer and funded by the ESRC 1+3 Award.

James is qualified in both SPSS and Atlas.ti, but is also proficient in utilising a wide range of software tools to produce engaging and informative visualisations such as films, animations, timelines and infographics.
